This "Theme Page" has links to two types of resources related to the study of countries. Students and teachers will find curricular resources (information, content...) to help them learn about this topic. In addition, there are also links to instructional materials (lesson plans) which will help teachers provide instruction in this theme. Please read our disclaimer.

The US Library of Congress provides access to over 70 web versions of the Army Area Handbook books on a foreign country describing and analyzing its political, economic, social, and national security systems and institutions, and examining the interrelationships of those systems and the ways they are shaped by cultural factors.

Maps and information on all countries including facts and data on geography, climate, people, religion, language, history and economy.

  Pointer ImageWorld Flag Database:
Information on countries and international organizations with drawings showing national and state/provincial flags. Basic information about the country is also included.

CEAL has information guides on China, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Taiwan, Hong Konk, Macau, and Asia in General. Basic information (e.g., statistical) is provided for a wide number of countries on their economy, defense, geography, government, and people. There are also links to international news and countries' news organizations, city guides, weather, and museums.
